This program provides peer support members with the advanced clinical framework and practical skills necessary to facilitate high-stakes interventions. While most peer supporters join their teams with a mission to save lives, many are left without the tactical “how-to” of the support process. This course bridges that gap.
We begin by mastering the fundamentals of human engagement: initiating difficult conversations, utilizing precision questioning, and building internal motivation within peers. From this foundation the curriculum advances into the complexities of the field, including:
- Primary Concerns: Navigating depression, acute anxiety, and the unique strain on marriage and family dynamics.
- Critical Incidents: Strategic approaches to suicidality, PTSD, and the loss of a team member.
By integrating peer-led discussion with professional modeling, we replace hesitation with skilled competency. The result is a more effective, resilient peer support member who possesses the confidence to lead when it matters most.
